DNS
DNS
stands for Domain Name. Computers on the internet talk to each other by their
IP addresses - computer telephone numbers! However, if you want to visit InternetDesign.com,
you don't want to have to rember our IP address (66.70.28.200). So you use our
domain name (InternetDesign.com).
Name
servers connect the numbers to the names. You need a name server to tell computers
looking for your domain name where to look.
Normally
you have to enter two Name servers when you set up a domain name. Some companies
will want the name of your name server, some will want the IP address.
