How do I
complain about the Spam e-Mail I recieve?
Spam
mail can waste our time, and our bandwidth. One third of all e-Mail is spam! How
can you complain - how can you stop this?
First
of all, do NOT reply saying "remove" - this usually confirms that your
address works and can be spammed. If the spam sent to you has a domain name written
in it, and when you click the link you go to that domain, AND the reply adress
is to the same domain, you can ask to be removed. However, clicking any link in
the spam may confirm your address, so it is often best to just delete them.
If
you are sick of Spam, and want to complain though, there are people who can help
you. SpamCop is a wonderful aide when it comes to thwarting spammers. You can
sign up for their service at: http://spamcop.net/anonsignup.shtml.
This is a free service, but they do appreciate contributions. We will not list
there services here, as they do a perfect job of listing them on the above mentioned
page.
