You do not need a password to send mail, only to recieve it. When the e-Mail
system was designed, protecting your e-Mail was the primary goal. Now you also
have to protect against people pretending to be you in mail that they send.
The simple fix
to this messy problem is "recieve before send". You cannot send your
mail without a password until you have checked it first - with a password. So
if you get an error message, you can do one of two things. First you can click
on "send and recieve" twice. Or you can change your e-Mail to recieve
before sending. Please consult your e-Mail program manual for help with this.
